Pros and cons of BLACK - B&W Film Emulator app for iPhone and iPad
BLACK - B&W Film Emulator app good for
A must have for any serious photographer. Gorgeous black&white results in a click. Easy to use effects. All the good old film presets. A investment well worth every penny.
Nice tho. Crashes here and there, but all in all a nice invention
I wouldve never considered downloading an app solely for black and white photography. I was wrong. Download this freaking app!!
There are an awful lot of photo editing apps out there on the market. Take one look at the iTunes storefront and youll be inundated with hundreds of apps that offer text overlays, fractal patterns, light leaks, and all kinds of other tacky crap.
This app was a refreshing, welcome change. These two guys have taken the editing process and distilled it down to include only what you need, and nothing that you dont.
Pick a film emulation. Adjust curves, and add a fade/vignette if you feel its appropriate.
Done. And the results are quite pleasing.
Im sure you could likely coax another app to pull off the same kind of results if you played with the curves, brightness, contrast, and a whole pile of other parameters. But again, why would you if you can do the same thing here in seconds?
Its simple. Its elegant. Its powerful, and pulls off exactly what it says it does, without any other stuff thrown in there. I love it to pieces.
If you enjoy black and white photography, this is your definitive editor. I know its mine.
I loved this app for Windows Phone and have been patiently awaiting its arrival on iOS since I got my 6 Plus. Definitely worth the wait!
Real simple enough to get what you want. Yet, what comes out never fails to be beautiful. App that edits your photos to the next level and inspires all things creative. Highly recommended!
Some bad moments
If it worked. Very disappointed that it crashes every time I try to use it. Especially after buying the in-app purchase.
This app offers some unique and easy to use black and white presets for your photos. Along with that there are a number of adjustments you can make for a photo vignette, etc. The problem I find is that the adjustment sliders for these effects are a white font which is barely visible or invisible depending on the white space of your photo.
But there is one fatal flaw. The app only sees a small portion of my photo library. 745/2000
Seems like a worthwhile app, but crashes on iPhone 5 running latest iOS 8. Needless to say, I wont be buying the additional in-app purchase.
Im not sure why other reviewers are having so much trouble. This app is powerful and beautiful for editing B&W photos. So much that I may no longer want to edit in color anymore. Fancy & smooth UI flow, easy to use and manipulate, and fun! I found this via Uncrate and I think it deserves more attention.
You can edit your picture but in order to save it the app forces you to buy it. Its not worth $2 for a black and white photo. I dont care that much haha
