There are an awful lot of photo editing apps out there on the market. Take one look at the iTunes storefront and youll be inundated with hundreds of apps that offer text overlays, fractal patterns, light leaks, and all kinds of other tacky crap.
This app was a refreshing, welcome change. These two guys have taken the editing process and distilled it down to include only what you need, and nothing that you dont.
Pick a film emulation. Adjust curves, and add a fade/vignette if you feel its appropriate.
Done. And the results are quite pleasing.
Im sure you could likely coax another app to pull off the same kind of results if you played with the curves, brightness, contrast, and a whole pile of other parameters. But again, why would you if you can do the same thing here in seconds?
Its simple. Its elegant. Its powerful, and pulls off exactly what it says it does, without any other stuff thrown in there. I love it to pieces.
If you enjoy black and white photography, this is your definitive editor. I know its mine.
